Greg Davies, the famous Taskmaster, has revealed why he and his co-star Alex Horne decided not to be a part of the new spinoff show, Junior Taskmaster. He mentioned that they felt the show needed a different vibe and that his intimidating height might not be suitable for a kids’ version of the show. Instead, the Junior Taskmaster will be hosted by former Taskmaster participants Rose Matafeo and Mike Wozniak.

The Junior Taskmaster series, which will air on Channel 4, is geared towards a younger audience and will feature 25 contestants between the ages of nine and 11. These contestants will compete in five heats and two semi-finals, with the top five moving on to the Grand Final to vie for the title of the first Junior Taskmaster champion.

Rose Matafeo expressed her excitement at being appointed as the Junior Taskmaster, calling it one of the greatest honors of her career. She humorously mentioned looking forward to the power going to her head. Mike Wozniak also shared his enthusiasm, stating that he always aspired to be a Little Alex Horne and promising to fulfill his role with courage, grit, and dignity.

The premiere of Junior Taskmaster is scheduled for Friday, November 8, making it the first spinoff of the popular Taskmaster franchise. While discussing potential future spin-offs, Alex Horne mentioned that they had explored ideas like Foodmaster, Dogmaster, and Carmaster but felt content with the junior and senior versions for now to avoid diluting the original product.

Taskmaster has continued to captivate audiences on Channel 4, with the addition of Junior Taskmaster aiming to engage younger fans starting from November 8. The show’s success and the anticipation surrounding its spinoffs highlight the enduring popularity and appeal of the Taskmaster concept.
