A heroic garage owner, Nawaz ‘Naz’ Arslan, from Quick Fix Auto in Walsall, has been praised for his quick actions that saved the life of a delivery driver, Peter Roberts. During a delivery from GSF Car Parts, Peter suddenly fell ill and lost consciousness. Naz immediately called 999 and followed instructions to perform CPR until the paramedics arrived. It was later determined that Peter had suffered a heart attack. Thanks to Naz’s intervention, Peter remained stable and was rushed to the hospital where he spent several days in intensive care. Peter expressed his gratitude towards Naz, calling him his hero and crediting him with saving his life. Naz, on the other hand, reflected on the frightening situation but emphasized the importance of acting quickly in such emergencies.
In a statement, Steve Horne, CEO at GSF Car Parts, expressed immense gratitude towards Naz for his courage and quick thinking during the critical moment. He highlighted the strong relationships they have with their customers and partners, and praised Naz’s life-saving assistance as exemplary. The entire GSF family is relieved to see Peter on the path to recovery and will always remember Naz’s heroism and composure under pressure.
In the spirit of giving back to the community, Birmingham Live has launched BrumWish 2024, a festive drive to provide gifts to children and young people in need across the city. The campaign aims to support homeless individuals, vulnerable children, those in care, and those facing various challenges. There are several ways to contribute, including purchasing gifts from the BrumWish 2024 Amazon giftlist, donating money to the appeal fund hosted by Thrive Together Birmingham, or buying gifts to drop off at Edgbaston Stadium. The partnership with #Toys4Birmingham ensures that every gift will reach a child in need, providing comfort and joy during the holiday season.
The collaborative effort of organizations like Thrive Together Birmingham, Birmingham Playcare Network, Warwickshire Cricket Foundation, Birmingham Forward Steps, and BirminghamLive/Birmingham Mail, along with the support from Amazon UK and the Sutton Coldfield depot team, has made it possible to bring smiles to the faces of children in difficult circumstances.
