Toprak Razgatlioglu of the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team had an eventful Friday at the Pirelli Portuguese Round. Despite finishing third in the combined standings, he faced technical issues during Free Practice 2 which cut his day short. Smoke coming out of his BMW in the final 10 minutes of the session left him 0.102s behind the leader.

Starting strong by setting the pace in Free Practice 1 with a benchmark time of 1’40.777, Razgatlioglu was ahead of the competition by 0.391s. However, the technical problems in FP2 limited his progress, and he ended up behind Alvaro Bautista of the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team.

Reflecting on the day, Razgatlioglu mentioned the positive aspect of having a good pace with used tires despite the technical issue. He expressed his satisfaction with the performance and remains hopeful for the upcoming races. His consistent times in the 1’41 bracket throughout the day indicate his potential to secure race wins during the weekend.

Looking ahead to the possibility of matching the all-time winning streak of 11 victories in a row, set by Bautista and Jonathan Rea, Razgatlioglu is focused on surpassing that milestone. He remains determined to give his best effort in the races scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, aiming for a new record of 12 consecutive wins.
